Multi-award winning and internationally renowned guitarist Phil Robson brings a really swinging trio to Derry which features some of the top younger Irish musicians on the scene. The music the band play will be a mixture of tunes from the American Songbook, jazz classics and a sprinkling of Robson originals.

Phil Robson is a UK born, multi-award-winning guitarist & composer who was a seminal part of the London scene for many years before relocating to New York City in 2015 for five years. He’s now based in Co. Roscommon, Ireland. Robson is by nature a musical explorer and his work and collaborations have been truly diverse. While steeped in tradition, he’s also a constant experimenter.

Phil has led bands featuring jazz legends such as David Liebman, Mark Turner, Billy Hart, James Genus, Marc Copland & many more as well as working as a freelance musician with a huge cross spectrum of internationally renowned artists such as Kenny Wheeler, Barbra Streisand, Steve Lacy, Vince Mendoza, Donny McCaslin, Django Bates, The BBC Big Band, Ingrid Jenson, Phil Woods, Mike Gibbs, Bob Brookmeyer, Steve Wilson etc.

In Europe he’s renowned as the co-leader of the cult UK band ‘Partisans’ with

saxophonist Julian Siegel which ran for 23 years as well as for his work with his partner, the great vocalist/composer Christine Tobin.

In New York he’s best known for his collaboration with the master saxophonist/composer Jed Levy.

He's also a ‘Babel Label’, 'Whirlwind Recordings' ‘Lyte Records’ recording artist with many highly

acclaimed albums who performs at major venues and festivals around the world. The new album by Jed Levy Phil Robson Quartet called ‘The Unpredictability of the Sea’ is set for release on ‘Livia Records’ in May 2026.
