Calling aspiring jazz singers!! Come and attend ‘The Jam session’ - a vocal masterclass led by London-based jazz vocalists Sylvie Noble and Camille Rose.
Ever wanted to get up and sing at a jazz jam but not sure how to approach it? What song to choose? How to count the band in? This workshop will give singers a guide to performing at jazz jam sessions. Learn how to confidently lead and interact with a band, from establishing the tempo of the song, to improvising with other musicians, and how to command a strong ending. Find out the tricks, tips and knowledge to have a great jam experience, accompanied by a live jazz band.
This session is open to singers of all levels, whether you want to get up and sing, prefer to sit and observe, or just enjoy some great music!
The masterclass will use three standards as a basis in the session- -Bye Bye Blackbird -Misty - It could happen to you
Participating singers are encouraged to have familiarity with one of these tunes OR have a small list of familiar jazz standards to use in the session (no sheet music/charts needed)

Based in London, jazz vocalist and composer Sylvie Noble pulls from eclectic influences across the musical spectrum, combining jazz and folk to create an entirely unique sound. A finalist of the 2025 Tina May Young Jazz Musician competition and anchored by a love for improvisation, her sound is steeped in sensitive honesty, technical virtuosity, and captivating storytelling.
Camille Rose is an emerging jazz vocalist from London. Her mellifluous tones—often described as the lovechild of Ella Fitzgerald and Amy Winehouse—blend classic jazz sensibility with soulful inflection, drawing inspiration from artists such as Billie Holiday, Jazzmeia Horn, and Dinah Washington . Through storytelling rooted in the past and shaped by modern perception, Camille rekindles a deep love for the jazz vocal greats while continuing to push the music forward into new ground.
