Join acclaimed guitarist Hannes Riepler for an engaging jazz guitar masterclass exploring practical approaches to improvisation, repertoire, and developing a deeper relationship with the instrument.

This session will look at ways of exploring jazz on the guitar, including navigating the fretboard, connecting chords, scales, and melodic ideas, and building a more intuitive understanding of the neck. Hannes will also share insights into effective practice strategies, approaches to learning and interpreting jazz repertoire, and how to develop your own musical voice on the instrument.

Open to guitarists of all levels as well as anyone interested in the creative process behind jazz performance, the masterclass will include demonstrations, practical concepts, and time for questions.

About Hannes Riepler Hannes Riepler is a London-based jazz guitarist, composer, and educator, and Professor of Jazz Guitar at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Originally from Austria, he studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and later at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Riepler performs regularly across the UK and Europe, collaborating with leading improvisers on the contemporary jazz scene. Alongside his performing career, he is a dedicated educator who regularly gives workshops and masterclasses, sharing practical approaches to improvisation, repertoire, and developing a personal voice on the instrument.
